【摘要】:Thistestmethodcoversaproceduretodetermineameasureoftheacidstrengthofhighethanolcontentfuels.Theseincludeethanol,denaturedfuelethanol,andfuelethanol(Ed75-Ed85).Thetestmethodisapplicabletofuelscontainingnominally70volume%ethanol,orhigher,asdescribedinSpecificationsD4806andD5798.AcidstrengthasmeasuredinthistestmethodisdefinedaspHe.ApHevalueforalcoholsolutionsisnotdirectlycomparabletopHvaluesofwatersolutions.ThevalueofpHewilldependsomewhatonthefuelblend,thestirringrate,andthetimetheelectrodeisinthefuel.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
